Abstract
A pumping station shown in Figure 1 includes a pump 2 and a non-return valve 3 which is closed during normal pumping of fluid from a wet well 1 to an outlet pipe 10 and which opens automatically when the pump is driven in the reverse direction to admit fluid from the well 1 into the body 5 of the pump whereby to permit the pump to provide forced recirculation of fluid in the wet well. <IMAGE>
