Abstract

226,976. Pollard (Sundries), Ltd., E., and Pollard, H. E. Jan. 2, 1924. Machines for covering boxes. In a machine for covering boxes, particularly applicable for jewel cases, &c. having domed lids, of the kind in which the box D and covering A are pressed between two co-operating formers G, H, the surface of the female former H is constituted of rubber or like extensible material. The covering blank. one sid'e of which is gummed, is laid upon a two-part former C having a central plate E coinciding with the box hinge and the inverted box pressed down manually upon it, the box and blank being then transferred to the male former G, which is lowered to press them between the two formers G, H. To prevent the overlapping side edges A<2> interfering when the front and rear edges are turned inwardly presser bars J are provided.
