Abstract

226,402. Clayton Fire Extinguishing & Disinfecting Co., Ltd., and Roberts, R. Davies-. Feb. 28, 1924. Casings. - Centrifugal and centripetal pumps and blowers have casings divided into two parts, a main lower portion with the inlet a and delivery pipe a<4>, and an upper portion c held in place by stirrups a<6> or by curved bars pivoted to the lower portion. The impeller b is secured to the shaft b<1>, Fig. 7, supported in ball bearings in a housing b<2> clamped in the openings a<9>, c<4> in the casing parts. Packing is provided in the recess b<4> in the housing to make a tight joint. The construction permits the rotor, spindle and bearings to be removed as a unit. In a modification the casing is constructed to take two impellers.
