Abstract

Apparatus for utilising the energy of waste matte comprises respective gasification and combustion chambers (2, 3) connected by an intermediate chamber (4), an entry (5) for ambient combustion air into at least the intermediate chamber (4), and means (6) to cool an inner and external wall of the apparatus and heat the ambient combustion air for passage to the entry (5). <IMAGE>
