Abstract

Cup-leather swivelling joints.-A steam-tight joint is maintained between the steam inlet 19, Fig. 2, in the doll-head and the trunnion of a drying-cylinder by a flexible member 13 made, for example, of Dexine which fits over a tube 7 secured to tEe end of the trunnion and is pressed against a well in the doll-head by a removable cover having a flange 17. The tube is formed with a groove 10 to prevent condensed steam passing into the bearing. In a modification, the flexible member 29, Fig. 4, fits over a tubular member 25 which is secured to the doll-head. In another arrangement, two flexible members are employed connected by a floating tube.
