Abstract
A double-deck parking device for parking motor vehicles, comprising a base for supporting a bottom platform, a side frame for supporting an upper platform, a first driving mechanism to move said bottom platform to a loading position for loading a motor vehicle to be parked or to pull it back to a parking position at the bottom, and a second driving mechanism to lower said upper platform to said loading position or to lift it to another parking position at the top. The bottom mechanism comprises a pivoted X-linkage (64, 65) with one end moving in a channel in a moving bar (63), a second end pivoted to a back frame (6), a chain drive connected to a third end and the fourth end pivoted to the moving bar. <IMAGE>
Description
DOUBLE-DECK PARKING DEVICE
The present invention relates to a parking device and relates more particularly to a double-deck parking device for parking motor vehicles efficiently conveniently.
In downtown area, the cost of land is very expensive, and therefore, the land must be fully utilized.
Further, to find a place for parking a motor vehicle has become a common problem to those people living or working in cities.
The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a double-deck parking device for parking motor vehicles, which provides double space for parking.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a double-deck parking device for parking motor vehicles, which is easy to operate and convenient for parking motor vehicles.
It is still another object of the present invention to provide a double-deck parking device for parking motor vehicles, which can be installed indoors as well as outdoors.
An embodiment of the present invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
Fig. 1 illustrates the preferred embodiment of the double-deck parking device of the present invention showing that the upper platform is lowered to the ground for loading a motor vehicle;
Fig. 2 illustrates that the upper platform is lifted into the parking position and the bottom platform is moved outwards for loading a motor vehicle;
Fig. 2-1 illustrates that the log on the support is fastened in the side bar of the side frame;
Fig. 3 illustrates the structure of the structure of the base frame;
Fig. 4 illustrates the operation of the first and second motors in driving the chain and the suspension ropes;;
Fig. 5 is a partly sectional view of the bottom platform and the base frame showing that the guide block is inserted in the groove to guide the bottom platform moving on the base frame; and
Fig. 6 is a partly sectional view of the first connecting bar and the movable bar showing that the sliding block of the first connecting bar is retained in the channel inside the movable bar.
Referring to the various drawings attached herewith, a detailed description of the structural features of " Double-Deck Parking Device" of the present invention is as follows:
Referring to Figs. 1 and 2, a double-deck parking device in accordance with the present invention is generally comprised of a side frame 5, a bottom frame, an upper platform 1 and a bottom platform 2. The upper platform 1 is attached to a pair of supports 3 and 4 at one side at the bottom through the process of welding, which pair of supports 3 are connected by a cross bar 34. The upper platform 1 has two sloping edges on the two opposite ends thereof and a stand 13 on the bottom edge thereof at one side opposite to the two supports 3 and 4.The bottom platform 2 has two guide blocks 201 on the bottom edge thereof at two opposite ends (see Fig. 5) through which it is moved back and forth along two parallel grooves 61 and 62 on the base frame 6. The two supports 3 and 4 are respectively connected to the two opposite side bars 51 and 52 of the side frame 5 by two pairs of suspension arms 31 and 32; 41 and 42 and each of which has a lug 301 or 401 on the bottom (see Fig. 2-1).
The suspension arms 31, 32, 41 and 42 each has two opposite ends pivotably secured to the support 3 or 4 and the side bar 51 or 52 by pins 311 and 312; 321 and 322; 411 and 412; or 421 and 422. The side frame 5 is formed in a hollow, rectangular structure and the two side bars 51 and 52 of which each has an elongated slot 511 or 521 near the top end thereof into which a suspension rope 33 or 43 is fastened, which suspension rope 33 or 43 has an opposite end secured to the support 3 or 4. The side bar 51 or 52 further has a round hole 512 or 522 at the middle into which the lug 301 or 401 is engaged when the upper platform 1 is moved up to the side frame 5.
Referring to Fig. 3 and seeing Fig. 2 again, the base frame 6 is made in a hollow structure having a pivot 642 fastened therein at one corner to secure a first connecting bar 64 which is fastened with a pivot 641 at the middle to secure a second connecting bar 65. The second connecting bar 65 has one end pivotably connected to a movable bar 63 by a pin 631 and an opposite end connected to a chain 7 by a pin 651, which chain 7 is mounted on two chain wheels 66 and 67 which are respectively mounted on two gear shafts 661 and 671. The movable bar 63 defines therein a channel in which the sliding block 643 which is fastened on the first connecting bar 64 at the opposite end thereof is moved back and forth.
Referring te Fig. 4, a first motor 8 is provided to drive the chain 7 to rotate and, a second motor 9 is provided to take up or let off the suspension ropes 33 and 43. Turning on the second motor 9, the upper platform 1 is lowered to the ground for loading a motor vehicle (see
Fig. 1) or lifted to the side frame 5 to hold the motor vehicle in place. Turning on the first motor 8, the bottom platform 2 is moved outwards for loading a motor vehicle or pulled backwards into the parking position.
Claims (2)
1. A double-deck parking device comprising:
a base frame at the bottom to support a bottom platform, said bottom platform being secured to said base frame by a movable bar, said movable bar being secured to said base frame by a crossed bar, said crossed bar being comprised of two pivoted bars and having a first terminal end pivotably secured to said base frame at one corner, a second terminal end pivotably secured to said movable bar at one end, a third terminal end secured to a chain inside said base frame, and a fourth terminal end movably movably retained in a channel in said movable bar;
a side frame vertically disposed at one side to support an upper platform, said upper platform being attached to a pair of supports at one side, said pair of supports being connected to said side frames by at least one pair of suspension bars and a pair of suspension ropes; ;
a first driving mechanism controlled to drive said chain to rotate;
a second driving mechanism controlled to take up and let off said pair of suspension ropes alternatively; and
wherein turning on said first driving mechanism causes said bottom platform to be moved outwards for loading a motor or pulled backwards into the parking position; turning on said second driving mechanism causes said bottom platform to be lowered to the ground for loading a motor vehicle or lifted to said side frame to the parking position.
2. A double-deck parking device as hereinbefore described with reference to and as illustrated in, Figs. 1 to 6 of the accompanying drawings.
