Bore-hole apparatus.-Apparatus for boring earth and rock comprises a slide 4 adjustable in guides 5 in a framework by means of a winch 7 and a flexible connection 6 passing over pulleys on the slide and framework, the slide 4 carrying a single-acting reciprocating motor 3 and the boring bar 1 being attached to the motor piston 2; handles are provided on the boring bar to rotate the latter and a pipe 8, fixed to the upper cylinder cover of the motor, passes through a gland in the motor piston and into the boring bar to supply scavenging water.
