Covers; dust, excluding. -A one-piece frame 3 carrying a ball bearing 2 or the like has on one or both sides two plates 5, 6, shaped to hold an annular ring 7 of felt or like packing material round the shaft 1. The plates 5, 6 are in two or more segments, the joints in the plate 5 being out of line with those in the plate 6. Preferably the bolts 8 holding the plates together pass through the joints. The bearing may be used in threshing machines.
