Abstract
502,135. Pressing-rollers for jute &c. spinuing-machines. LAIRD, T. H. Feb. 1, 1938, No. 3139. Convention date, Dec. 23, 1937. [Class 120 (ii)] [Also in Group VIII] Pressing-rollers for jute and like spinning-machines comprise disc-like members 1, 1a provided with knifeedge peripheries, one member having ledges 4, 5 whereby the other serves to clamp a ring 10 of cork, leather, rubber, or other suitable material so that it forms a wearing surface level with the edges of the members adapted to wear uniformly therewith. Curved or sloping surfaces may be provided so that the ring is forced outwardly when tightened, as described in Specification 304,457, [Class 120 (ii)].
