Abstract

A cell for use in a network comprises: a processing means having multiple processors for preparing messages for broadcast ever said network and for interpreting messages received from said network, said processing means for executing a computer program by at least one of said processors for sensing, communicating and/or controlling in said network including storage means for storing a unique identification number; an input and output section having a plurality of subsections for coupling messages between said processing means and said network and providing sensing and/or controlling; said processing means interfacing with said input/output section to receive or transmit messages without interrupting the program; said input/output section including a terminal coupled to said storage means for enabling broadcasting of said unique identification number. <IMAGE>
