Abstract

A system of pitched roofing is 'environment friendly' in that it completely eliminates the use of timber, thus reducing the present trend to deforestation. The sub structure is formed from prestressed concrete interlocking panels (designated "Roofplank"), which themselves interlock onto precast concrete portal frames, with a precast concrete eaves unit which combines the function of eaves tie and surface water gutter. This provides a stable structure unit, all from standard components, which is virtually maintenance free. The structure is then infilled as shown with 2 courses of standard modular brickwork in waterproof mortar. <IMAGE>

Description

Pit roofing This application comprises a new system of pitched roofing which is 'environment friendly' in that it completely eliminates the use of timber, thus reducing the present trend to deforestation.
The sub structure is formed from new designed standard prestressed concrete interlocking panels (designated 'Roofplank'), which themselves fnterlock onto precast concrete portal frames, with a new desfgned precast concrete eaves unit which combines the function of eaves tie and surface water gutter.
This provides a stable structural unit, all from standard components, which is virtually maintenance free.
The structure is then infilled as shown with 2 courses of standard modular brickwork in waterproof mortar, and it is proposed that all other materials employed be of UFVC, with all components readilly available from U.K. sources.
