Abstract
223,544. Kodak, Ltd., (Assignees of Stuber, A., and Underwood, E. E.). Oct. 20, 1923, [Convention date]. Magazine hand cameras for roll films ; roller slides.-The film holder comprises a film chamber supporting flanged spools, and a resilient filmtensioning device having a part which initially bears directly on the film roll, and another part which bears upon the flange of the spool only after the film has been partly unwound, thereby transferring the pressure from the roll to the spool. The device may be so constructed as to prevent axial movement of the spools. A holder for insertion in a box-form camera 1 comprises a frame having side walls 10 and plates 11 converging towards an exposure aperture 7 in a front plate 8. The film spools 16 are inserted through apertures 22 in the walls 10, and rest between the front plate and rollers 15. The film 13 is guided round the back of the slide which has an exposure opening 12. Upon the front plate 8 are mounted two plates 17 each of which has resilient arms 19 having pressed-up straps 20, which prevent axial movement of the spools, and press upon the film roll when either spool is full. When only a portion of the film has been unwound or wound, as shown in Fig. 3, the arms 19 press upon the spool flanges to maintain the tension of the film.
