Abstract

Packaging for confectionery products 1 comprises a carton 15 having a handle 5-5 and a surrounding band 7. At each of its ends, said band 7 is provided with a respective slot 11 through which the handle 5-5 protrudes, thus making it possible the band 7 to be constrained to the carton. The band bears data and illustration of the product permitting use of the carton for different products in combination with a particular, readily removal product-related band. <IMAGE>

Description

"PACKAGING FOR CONFECTIONERY PRODUCTS" The present invention relates to a packaging for confectionery products.
The packagings of confectionery products known from the prior art comprise a container having a substantially parallelepipedal shape, in which a bottom surface, side surfaces and a top surface can be distinguished. The top surface usually is the surface that can be opened in order to make it possible the relevant confectionery product to be introduced into the packaging, and/or to be extracted from said packaging.
The top surface is given such a structure that it can be subdivided into portions having a substantially triangular shape hinged onto the side walls, and converging towards the centre.
Two mutually opposite triangular portions are each provided with a respective slot, and the residual triangular portions are each provided with a respective half-handle.
By uniting the half-handles with each other, a handle is obtained which, when slit through both of the above mentioned slots, closes the container, which can be thus comfortably carried.
Such a type of packaging is usually profitably used for confectionery products such as "panettone", cakes or the like, which are most purchased in order to be given as a present.
On considering the very large number of possible variants offered by such products, each packaging should mandatorily make it possible the therein contained product to be distinguished and illustrated at best to the potential purchaser.
For that purpose the traditional packagings are usually provided with a beautiful and clear reproduction, possibly a photographic reproduction, of the product contained inside them.
However, a packaging illustrating the product contained inside it does not make it possible the present to be offered with the due elegance, in that the person who receives it clearly sees, before opening the packaging, which the matter is of, with the presenting act being deprived of the necessary "atmosphere".
Wrapping up the packaging in paper is not practical for the retailer and certainly does not facilitate the successive carrying of the same wrapped-up packaging by the purchaser, in that said purchaser has to renounce the use of the comfortable handLe the packaging is provided with.
Furthermore, as said, the very large number of variants offered for such products prevents the packagings from being interchangeable and imposes a rigorous management of the packagings stocks by the manufacturer.
The purpose of the instant invention is of providing a packaging for confectionery products which is capable of simultaneously obviating all of these drawbacks as above cited, i.e., which: - can be used for various products, according to the manufacturer requirements; - makes it possible its contents to be illustrated at purchase time with clearness, and at a glance, with however said contents being hindered when the packaged product is offered as a present, and, possibly, also at carrying time.
Such a purpose is achieved by a packaging for confectionery products which comprises a container with a substantially parallelepipedal shape, in which container a bottom wall, four side walls and a top wall can be distinguished, which top wall is provided with a handle, with at least one of said walls being suitable for being opened in order to make it possible the interior of the packaging to be accessed, characterized in that the container is associated with a band comprising a central portion, a first and a second side portion placed sideways to said central portion, a first and a second end portions, with each one of said end portions being provided with a second slot superimposable to the slot of the either end portion so as to form a second opening through which the container handle is slit, with the central portion of the band being superimposed to the bottom wall; the first side portion and the second side portion being superimposed to the side walls; and the first end portion and the second end portion being superimposed to the top wall.
On the only band all of the specifications as provided by the Law as to the contained product, such as, e.g., net weight, ingredients, date packaged and expiry term, and the like, can be reported, together with the illustration of the product. The illustration can be of such size as to also be superimposed to most surface (e.g., to most side surface) of the container, in order to supply the potential purchaser with a clear and immediate illustration of the product. One single type of container can be used for different confectionery products by being just combined with the purposely provided band.
After that the purchaser has bought the packaged product and anyway before his offering it as a present, he can remove the band without any risks of alteration of the functionality of the packaging.
The instant finding is illustrated for merely exemplifying, non-limitative purposes, in the hereto attached drawing tables, in which: Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the packaging, opened and with the band being in course of application, Figure 2 shows a perspective view of the packaging with the band applied to it, and Figure 3 shows a top plan view of the band.
Referring to the above mentioned figures, the packaging for confectionery products according to the present invention, generally indicated by the reference numeral 1, comprises a container 15 and a band 7. The container 15 has a substantially parallelepipedal structure in which a bottom wall 2, four side walls 3 and a top wall 4 can be distinguished, with at least one of said walls being suitable for being opened in order to make it possible the interior of the packaging to be accessed. In the herein exemplified case, the top wall 4 is the openable wall. Said top wall 4 is subdivided into two pairs of mutually opposite portions of substantially triangular shape, i.e., a first pair of walls 4A and a second pair of portions 4B, all of which portions have one of their sides hinged onto the side walls 3.Each wall portion of the first pair of wall portions of triangular shape 4A bears a half-handle 5, and each wall portion of the second pair of wall portions of triangular shape 4B bears a first slot 6 which can be superimposed to the slot 6 of the other portion. By uniting the two half-handles 5 to each other, a handle 5-5 is obtained, which, when slit through the opening 6-6, closes the container 15.
In the band 7 a central portion 8, a first and a second side portions 9 placed sideways to relatively to said central portion 8, and a first and a second outer portions 10 can be distinguished.
Each one of said outer portions 10 is provided with a respective second slot 11 which can be superimposed to the slot 11 of the other portion 10, so as to generate a second opening 11-11.
In order to associate the band 7 to the container 15 it is enough to slid the handle 5-5 through the second opening 11-11, with the closure of the packaging 1 being thus obtained.
The central portion 8 of the band 7 is superimposed to the bottom wall 2; the first and the second side portions 9 are superimposed to the side walls 3; the first and the second outer portions 10 are superimposed to the top wall 4.
The band 7 bears all of the necessary indications for the product to be identified, and, for that purpose, at least one of the central portions 8 can comprise a wider portion 12 housing, e.g., a photographic reproduction in full colours of the contained product.
At least one of the outer portions 10 has its edge 13 rounded and superimposed to the edge of the other portion 10. Between the two edges a warranty seal 14, e.g., of the self-adhesive label type, can be applied.
In such a way the band 7 can also act as a warranty seal.
When the seal is torn, or is pulled away, the damaging of the only surface of the band 7 is caused, with the surface of the container 15 remaining uninjured, thus remaining free from abrasions and consequently in perfect conditions when the packaging is offered as a present.
