Description
EXTERNAL WALL PANEL
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Field of the Invention:
This invention relates to an external wall panel formed of a relatively heavy finish material such as stone, glass, large-sized tile and metal sheet. More specifically, the present external wall panel is composed of a metal frame body, instead of a PC plate, used for a structural body (main body) of the external wall panel, and a finish material such as stone and tile or the like attached to the surface of the metal frame body, whereby the present external wall panel aims at the improvement in decorative property and durability, and besides, the reduction in weight.Further, the present external wall panel is mounted to a structural body of a building with a plurality of fasteners so as to be adjustable the position of the external wall panel in the vertical, lateral and longitudinal directions, and also to be capable of following the deformation of the strcutural body of the building, whereby the present external wall panel aims at the improvement in workability and quake resistant property.
Description of the Prior Art:
Generally, when an external wall of a building is finished off by the use of stone, tile or the like, such the external wall is not only easy to clean, but also makes a fine show, so that such the finishing of the external wall is recently in wide use.
Heretofore, as for a method for attaching the tiles, stones or the like to a structural body of a building, since the work of bonding the tiles, stones or the like one by one to the surface of the structural body of the building requires much time, use has been generally made of a method for joining a so-called precast concrete sheet member, in which concrete and an attaching material such as stone and tile or the like are formed as a single body by charging the concrete into the back side of the attaching material, to a frame body of a building with bolts.
However, the precast concrete sheet member needs to be considerably thickened for reasons that the precast concrete sheet member is made to have the strength enough to cope with a wind pressure and a seismic force, so that the precast concrete sheet member not only increases in weight to become troublesome in handling such as transportation, but also is unfavorable to the quake resistant aspect.
Also, it is inevitable for the precast concrete sheet member to increase in material cost by a thickened portion, thus resulting in the comparatively high cost in manufacture of the precast concrete sheet member.
Further, the precast concrete sheet member is not necessarily completely fixed to the frame body for reasons of avoiding the cracks and breakdown due to earthquake and thermal change or the like, but the precast concrete sheet member is generally mounted so as to be capable of shifting to a certain degree. However, any of the conventional precast concrete sheet members is complicated and troublesome in structure.
Furthermore, since the execution of works for an external wall is done separately from that for an internal wall, a term of works is inevitably prolonged.
The present invention is proposed in order to dissolve the above problems, and its object is to provide an external wall panel, which permits to improve in decorative property, durability, reduction in weight, workability, remarkable shortening in a term of works with the reduction in weight and quake resistant property.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an external wall panel formed of a relatively heavy material such as stone, glass and lårge-sized tile. More specifically, an external wall panel according to the present invention comprises a metal sheet attached to a metal frame body on the outdoor side, a plurality of furring strips made of steel members such as light-weight Hshaped steel and H-shaped steel and mounted to the metal sheet on the outdoor side, and a square sheet member made of stone, tile or glass or a thin precast concrete sheet member formed by bonding the stone, tile or glass to the surface, the square sheet member or thin precast concrete sheet member being mounted to the furring strips on the outdoor side.Further, the upper end of the external wall panel is fixedly attached to a framework of a building with a plurality of fasteners, each of which consists of an anchor fitting, a connector fitting and a receiver fitting, so as to be adjustable the position of the external wall panel in the lateral, vertical and longitudinal directions, and also to be capable of following the deformation of the building framework. Also, the lower end of the external wall panel is fixedly attached to the framework of the building with a plurality of fasteners, each of which consists of an anchor fitting and a connector fitting, so as to be adjustable the position of the external wall panel in the lateral, vertical and longitudinal directions, and also to be capable of following the deformation of the building framework.
The external.wall panel of the present invention is effective as follows.
Since the main body (structural body) of the external wall panel is a metal frame body, which is framed by shape steel such as light-weight angle steel and channel steel into the form of a lattice, instead of a precast concrete sheet member, the external wall panel is not only excellent in decorative property, but also aims at the improvement in durability and also the remarkable reduction in weight. Further, the present external wall panel not only extremely facilitates the handling such as transportation and installation with the reduction in weight, but also is advantageous to the quake resistant aspect.
Further, since the external wall panel is not necessarily completely fixed to the framework of the building, but the external wall panel is fixed by a plurality of fasteners so as to be adjustable the position of the external wall panel in the longitudinal, lateral and vertical directions, the error of execution and the dimensional error are easily absorbed to permit the external wall panel to be mounted at the accurate position, so that the workability is largely improved.
Furthermore, even if the building is subjected to earthquake and wind pressure or heat to deform the structural body, the deformation of the structural body is absorbed in the fasteners. Accordingly, there is no possibility that the external wall panel is affected by the deformation of the structural body. As a result, the external wall panel is prevented from the damage and falling.
Also, since the external wall portion and the internal wall portion are constituted as a single body, the execution of works of the external wall and the internal wall are simulataneously done during the mounting of the wall panel1 so that a term of works is largely shortened.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
It is an object of the present invention to provide an external wall panel, which permits to improve in decorative property, durability, reduction in weight, workability, remarkable shortening in a term of works with the reduction in weight and quake resistant property.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
Hereinafter will be explained an external wall panel according to the present invention with reference to the illustrated embodiments.
An external wall panel 1 comprises a metal sheet 3 attached to the surface of a metal frame body 2, and a plurality of exterior finish panels 4 mounted to the surface of the metal sheet 3.
The metal frame body 2 is composed of a plurality of light-weight angle steel members 5 and light-weight channel steel members 5a, which are framed into the form of a lattice as being welded or joined by the use of bolts to each other.
The metal sheet 3 is attached to the whole surface of the metal frame body 2 on the outdoor side over by means of welding and bolt joint.
The metal sheet 3 fulfills the fireproof and waterproof functions, and the surface of the metal sheet 3 is coated with a fireproof material and a waterproof paint.
A plurality of furring strips 8 are vertically mounted on the surface of the metal sheet 3 at uniform intervals.
The furring strips 8 are respectively made of Hshaped steel or channel steel. Among these furring strips 8, the furring strips 8 made of channel steel are horizontally mounted to upper and lower opposite ends of the metal sheet 3 by joining these furring strips 8 to the metal frame body 2 with bolts, whereas the furring strips 8 made of H-shaped steel are horizontally mounted to portions of the metal sheet 3 other than the upper and lower opposite ends by joining these furring strips 8 to the metal frame body 2 with bolts.
A vertical piece of each of the furring strips 8 serves as an engaging portion 8a for fixing each exterior finish panel 4 in position.
Each exterior finish panel 4 is formed of a square sheet member made of stone, tile or glass, or a thin precast concrete sheet member, in which the tiles or stones 7 are bonded to the surface of a square backing sheet 6 made of light-weight concrete.
In manufacture of the thin precast concrete sheet member, the backing sheet 6 is previously formed and then the tiles or stones 7 are bonded to the surface of the backing sheet 6 with a backing material, or otherwise the tiles or stones 7 are previously arranged in a form for use in manufacture of the thin precast concrete sheet member, then light-weight cement mortar or light-weight concrete is charged into the form and then the form is removed after the light-weight cement mortar or the light-weight concrete is sufficiently cured to thereby form the thin precast concrete sheet member.
Since the backing sheet 6 fulfills the heatinsulating and fireproof functions and the function of holding the tile, stone or glass, the backing sheet 6 is formed as thin as possible enough to fulfill these functions, so that the backing sheet 6 is made to reduce in weight and save on material.
Further, slits 9, 9 are formed in upper and lower edge portions of each backing sheet 6 or upper and lower edge portions of each square sheet member made of tile, stone or glass in such a manner that the confronting slits respectively formed in the adjacent backing sheets or adjacent square sheet members are laterally aligned with each other.
Each exterior finish panel 4 thus formed as noted above is disposed between the respective upper and lower furring strips 8, 8 and fixed thereto by the way of fitting the vertical pieces 8a, 8a of the upper and lower furring strips 8, 8 into the corresponding upper and lower slits 9, 9 of the exterior finish panel 4.
Some interstice is defined between the adjacent exterior finish panels 4, 4 in order to absorb the expansion and contraction of each exterior finish panel 4 due to a thermal change. If necessary, this interstice is filled with a joint member 32.
The external wall panel 1 thus structured as noted above is disposed between the upper and lower beams 11,11 of a building, and fixed thereto with upper and lower fasteners 12, 13 in positions of the external wall panel shown in Fig. 5.
The upper fastener 12 is composed of an anchor fitting 14, a connector fitting 15 and a receiver fitting 16.
Each anchor fitting 14 is welded to each upper end of the upper and lower beams 11, 11 at uniform intervals in the longitudinal direction of the beams 11.
The distance between the anchor fittings 14, 14 mounted on the upper and lower beams 11, 11 corresponds to the width of the exterior finish panel 4.
Also, a vertically extending mounting hole 17 is bored in a horizontal portion of the anchor fitting 14, and a mounting nut 18 is welded to the back side of a mounting hole portion of the anchor fitting 14.
The connector fitting 15 is so structured that a rectangular plate is bent into the L-like form, and mounting holes 19, 20 are bored in a horizontal portion and a vertical portion of the L-shaped bent plate, respectively.
The mounting hole 19 bored in the horizontal portion of the connector fitting 15 is a loose hole, whereas the mounting hole 20 bored in the vertical portion thereof is a laterally elongate hole.
The connector fitting 15 thus formed as noted above is fixedly attached to the anchor fitting 14 by the steps of mounting the horizontal portion of the connector fitting 15 to the horizontal portion of the anchor fitting 14 under the condition that the mounting hole 17 of the anchor fitting 14 and the mounting hole 19 of the connector fitting 15 are aligned with each other, and then screwing a mounting bolt 21 onto the mounting nut 18 through the mounting hole 19 of the connector fitting 15.
In such the above case, since the mounting hole 19 of the connector fitting 15 is formed as a loose hole, and the mounting hole 20 thereof is formed as an elongate hole, the connector fitting 15 is easily determined in position in the longitudinal, lateral and diagonal directions, and hence the upper end of the exterior finish panel 4 is easily determined in position in the longitudinal, lateral and diagonal directions.
Further, a plurality of washers 22 are interposed between the horizontal portion of the connector fitting 15 and the anchor fitting 14 to easily permit the level adjustment of the connector fitting 15. Accordingly, the plurality of washers also easily permit the level adjustment of the external wall panel 1.
Furthermore, since the connector fitting 15 is formed of a metal which is liable to be deformed to a certain degree, instead of a casting or like material which is hard to be deformed, the connector fitting 15 is deformed as shown in Fig. 8 and absorbs the unexpected external force such as earthquake to avoid damaging a mounting portion of the external wall panel 1, and hence the external wall panel itself.
The receiver fitting 16 is welded to left and right opposite ends of the light-weight channel steel member 5a provided at the upper end of the external wall panel 1.
The receiver fitting 16 is provided with a mounting bolt 23 which horizontally projects into the indoor side of the receiver fitting 16.
The mounting bolt 23 of the receiver fitting 16 is passed through the mounting hole 20 of the connector fitting 15, and a fixing nut 24 is screwed onto a portion of the mounting bolt 23 projecting from the mounting hole 20, so that the upper end of the external wall panel 1 is fixed to the receiver fitting 16.
An elastic packing 25 is interposed between the vertical portion of the connector fitting 14 and the receiver fitting 16.
The lower fastener 13 is composed of the anchor fitting 14 and a connector fitting 26.
A mounting bolt 27 is welded to the mounting hole 17 of the anchor fitting 14 under the condition that a male screw portion is projected upward.
The connector fitting 26 is welded to the left and right opposite ends of the light-weight channel steel member 5a provided at the lower end of the external wall panel 1.
The connector fitting 26 is made of angle steel, and a vertically extending mounting hole 28 is bored in a horizontal portion of the connector fitting 26.
The mounting hole 28 is a loose hole.
Also, the connector fitting 26 is formed as a piece.
In the structure as noted above, the mounting bolt 27 is passed through the mounting hole 28 of the connector fitting 26, and the fixing nut 24 is screwed onto a portion of the mounting bolt 27 projecting from the mounting hole 28, so that the lower end of the external wall panel 1 is fixed to the connector fitting 26.
In such the above case, since the mounting hole 28 of the connector fitting 26 is also formed as a loose hole, the lower end of the external wall panel 1 is easily determined in position in the longitudinal, lateral and diagonal directions, and besides, the connector fitting 26 is deformed as shown in Fig. 9 to absorb the unexpected external force such as earthquake.
Fig. 6 shows another embodiment of the upper and lower fasteners having the same functions as the previously described embodiment.
Namely, the upper and lower fasteners facilitate the positioning of the external wall panel, and besides, absorb the deformation of a frame of a building due to earthquake, wind or heat through not only the loose hole of the connector fitting 15 of the upper fastener, the deformation of the connector fitting 15, and that of the elastic packing 25, but also the loose hole of the connector fitting 26 of the lower fastener and the deformation of the connector fitting 26, whereby the upper and lower fasteners prevent the deformation of the building frame from being transmitted to the external wall panel.
Hereinafter will be explained another embodiment of the external wall panel with reference to Figs. 11 through 16.
The external wall panel 1 in accordance with this embodiment comprises the metal sheet 3 attached to the surface of the metal frame body 2 on the outdoor side, a plurality of exterior finish panels 4 mounted to the surface of the metal sheet 3, and an interior finish panel 29 mounted to the metal frame body 2 on the indoor side.
The metal frame body 2 is composed of a plurality of channel steel members and angle steel members, which are framed into the form of a lattice as being welded or joined by the use of bolts to each other.
The metal sheet 3 is attached to the whole surface of the metal frame body 2 on the outdoor side over by means of welding or bolt joint.
The metal sheet 3 fulfills the fireproof and waterproof functions, and the surface of the metal sheet 3 is coated with a fireproof material 30 and a waterproof paint.
A plurality of furring strips 8 are vertically mounted to the surface of the metal sheet 3 at uniform intervals.
Each furring strip 8 is made of H-shape steel or channel steel, and provided with a plurality of mounting bolts 23 at uniform intervals in the longitudinal direction of the furring strip 8 and welded to the furring strip 8 so as to project into the indoor side of the furring strip 8.
Also, the furring strips 8 made of channel steel are horizontally mounted to the upper and lower opposite ends of the metal frame body 2 the way of inserting each mounting bolt 23 through the corresponding mounting hole (not shown) of the metal frame body 2 and then screwing each fixing nut 24 onto a portion of the mounting bolt 23 projecting from the corresponding mounting hole.
Further, the furring strips 8 made of H-shaped steel are horizontally mounted to portions of the metal frame body 2 other than the upper and lower opposite ends by the way of joining these furring strips 8 to the metal frame body 2 with bolts, similarly to the way of joining the furring strips 8 to the upper and lower opposite ends of the metal frame body 2.
Fig. 15 shows the case where the furring strips made of channel steel are used for not only those mounted to the upper and lower opposite ends of the metal frame body 2, but also those mounted to intermediate portions of the metal frame body 2.
In such the above case, the furring strips 8 made of channel steel are mounted to the intermediate portions of the meta; frame body 2 in such a manner that the adjacent furring strips 8 face in the opposite directions.
With such the constitution, even if the exterior finish panel 4 requires replacing for reasons of a change of design and remodelling or the like during the execution of works or after the completion of the execution of works, the already mounted exterior finish panel 4 is easily removed by removing only the upper end furring strip 8.
A vertical piece of each of the furring strips 8 serves as an engaging portion 8a for fixing the exterior finish panel 4 in portion.
As for the exterior finish panel 4, use is made of a relatively heavy material such as stone, largesized tile and crystallization glass. Slits 9, 9 are formed in the upper and lower edge portions of the exterior finish panel 4 in such a manner that the confronting slits 9, 9 respectively formed in the adjacent exterior finish panels are laterally aligned with each other.
Further, some interstice is defined between the adjacent exterior finish panels 4, 4 in order to absorb the expansion and contraction of each exterior finish panel 4 due to a thermal change. If necessary, this interstice is filled with a joint member 10.
Further, a plurality of furring strips 8 are vertically mounted to the metal frame body 2 on the indoor side at uniform intervals, and the interior finish panel 29 is attached to the inside of the furring strips 8.
As for the interior finish panel 29, use is made of plaster board, asbestos board, light-weight calcium board or the like, and a paint is applied to the surface of the interior finish panel 29 or a cloth or tile is bonded to the surface of the interior finish panel 29 to finish off the surface of the interior finish panel 29.
The external wall panel 1 thus structured as noted above is craned to a predetermined position of a framework of a building with a crane or the like to be fixed thereto with a plurality of fasteners.
