Abstract

222,165. Campbell, C. W., and Cockroft, F. April 24, 1923. Pie-moulding machines. -A machine for moulding pie shells within a tin comprises an upright 2 furnished with a long boss 2<X> in which slides a spindie 3 carrying the male die 33, and a spring - supported collar 35 loosely mounted above the die and adapted to contact with the boss 2<X> to detach the pie and tin from the die during its upward movement. The spindle 3 is operated by a lever 5 through an arm 7 and link 8, and the thickness of the pie shell is gauged by the arm 7 contacting with a stop screw 58 adjustable by a head 59 and held by a locknut 62. The spindle 3 may be formed hollow to form an air pump and co-operates with a spring piston 4 furnished with a head 13 retained in an elevated position by a bracket 34 to cause the air discharge when the spindle is moving upwardly.
