Abstract

A childs pedal car or similar mobile toy is driven by means of a single pivoted pedal or the like, which is operated in a reciprocating manner and drives one or more ground engaging wheels via a pawl and ratchet or like mechanism. In the case of a pedal car the pedal may comprise a movable part of the floor. <IMAGE>

Description

EASYPEDAL CAk{ This invention relates to an easily operable childs pedal car or bike.
The idea of the easypedal car was to design a car that young children dan operate easily.Pedal cars presently on the market are of the two pedal type whereby the child must push on opposite pedals in sequence.
1ihat usually happens is that the child either pushes both pedals together and gets nowhere,or rushes the pedals in such a @ay that the car moves forwards and backwards a short way but does not gain any fonvara momentum or speed The new design is far easier to operate In order to move the car forward all that is reouired of the child is that they push with both feet on the floor of the car(or the single pedal) and the car moves forward. The children appear to do this naturally without having to be shown how to work the car.
he invention consists of a ratchet wheel mounted on the rear axle of the car which is operated by the childs feet via a single pedal or a movin@ floor.
A way of using the invention is shown in figs I to 5, the car floor is allovred to svring on hangers and is attached to the ratchet mechanism by a link.The floor of the car is returned to the rear of the car by a spring.
