Abstract

220,519. Hiltebrandt, K. Nov. 13, 1923. Teeth, artificial.-An interchangeable artificial tooth having a surface of articulation is provided with one or more borings in a horizontal direction or in a direction slightly inclined toward the incised edge. The back face of the tooth is substantially parallel with the front face, and the side walls are parallel or rearwardly converging so that the rear face may be ground away to form a face or flat tooth without alteration in the width as seen from the front. A construction for use with a plate or bridge is shown in Figs. 1 and 2, an upper abutment f and lateral projections i being provided partly to encase the tooth. When ground on the rear face the tooth appears as shown in Fig. 4 in which it is fixed by means of a metal plate m to the base e. For use with vulcanite dentures a rearward projection substantially parallel to the pin-receiving boring is provided to engage the denture.
