Abstract

A safety control valve, which may be installed between the gas cock and the main stove of a water heater, is operated by a push button assembly. It divides the gas outflow into several stages; twelve burner holes are opened in the first stage, and eight burner holes are opened in the second stage; four burner holes are opened in the third stage so as to control the temperature of the water heater at a higher temperature, medium temperature, and low temperature. The gas flow is controlled by four interlinked pushbuttons 31-34 corresponding respectively to big fire, small fire, full burn, and stop. <IMAGE>

Description

MULTISTAGE-MECHANICAL GAS SAFETY VALVE This invention relates to a multistage-mechanical gas safety valve, especially to one that is connected between the gas cock and the main stove of a water heater.
In the conventional water heater, the gas cock is directly connected with the main Stove, and the pushrevolving button, used for igniting is used to control the fire strength of the stove. According to statistics, owing to the different habit and different emotion of the individual user, the push-revolving button can't last long; as a result,it is susceptible of causing to endanger the lives and properties of users. In addition, in different seasons, we need to adjust the button for obtaining the proper gas outflow from time to time. But there is no clear indication on the adjusting button. In case of being used by more than one user, the fire strength. is rather difficult to be adjusted to a proper condition in a short time.
In view of the disadvantages of the conventional water-heater, the inventor has, through research and analysis and many experiments, developed this invention, a multistage mechanical gas safety valve.
This invention relates to a multistage mechani cay' gas safety valve, especially to an apparatus used in water-heater, connected between the gas cock and the main stove. It can divide the gas outflow into several stages by the mechanical push button assembly so as to control the main stove burning in several stages.
An embodiment of this invention is described by way example with reference to the drawings in which: Fig. 1 illustrates a section view of this invention being connected between the gas cock 1. and the main stove 2 of the water heater.
Fig. 2 illustrates a sectional view of the whole body of this invention (showing the view in Fig. 1 being turned at an angle of 90 ).
Fig 3 illustrates a sectional view of this invention, showing the big fire key being pushed down.
Fig. 4 illustrates the sectional view of this invention showing the small fire key being pushed down.
Fig. 5 illustrates the sectional view of this invention showing the whole burning key being pushed down.
As shown in the aforesaid figures, this invention, multistage mechanical gas safety valve, comprises a pushbutton key, a valve body, two valves, and a driving mechanism. It is connected between the gas cock 1 and the main stove 2 for controlling the gas outflow and the heating temperature.
The push button assembly consists of a big fire key 31 a small fire key 32, fully burning key 33, stopburning key34 and a positioning and recovery mechanism 35.
The positioning and recovery mechanism 35 allows only one of the keys to be pushed down at one time, the otehrs will be reset to the non-push condition. The aforesaid four keys 31,32,33,34 are installed outside the water heater body 4 so as to let user to operate.
The valve body 5 includes a gas inlet 51, a gas passage 52, and two gas outlets 53, 54.
The two valves include a big fire valve 6 and a small fire valve 7, which are installed inside the valve body 5, being connected with the gas passage 52. Both the valves 6,7 comprise two rubber plugs 61, 71, which are used to close the gas outlet 53, 54, two connecting rods 62, 72 which are to suppert the rubber plugs 61, 71, and two recovery springs 63, 73 which are used to push up the rubber plugs 61,71.
A driving mechanism includes two driving bars 81,82 and a laterally driving rod 83. The first driving bar 81 is to be pushed with the big fire key 31 so as to open the big fire valve 6. The second driving bar 82 is to be pushed with the small fire key 32 so as to open the small fire valve 7. In addition, the laterally driving rod 83 is to be pushed with the fully burning key 33 so as to open the big fire valve and the small fire valve simultaneously.
When the big fire key is pushed down, the key is locked in position by a fastening device of the positioning and recovery mechanism 35, while the rest keys 32, 33,34 will be reset to their original positions; at the same time, the big fire key 31 will push the first driving bar 81 to cause the connecting rod 62, the rubber plug 61 and the recovery spring 63 of the valve to have a displacement; then, the gas will go through the gas inlet 51, the gas passage 52, the big fire valve 6, and the gas outlet 53 to blow into the burner on the top of,the A gas storage room of the main stove 2, and then the fire is on. Since there are more holes on theburner on the top of the A gas storage room (8 holes), the water-heater will be heated at a higher temperature.
When the small fire key is pushed down, the key is locked by a fastening device of the positioning and recovery mechanism 35, while the rest keys 31,33,34 will be reset to their original position; at the same time, the small fire key 32 pushes the second driving bar 82 to make the connecting rod 72, the rubber plug 71, the recovery spring 73 of the small fire valve have a displacement; then, the gas can go through the gas inlet 51, the gas passage 52, the small fire valve 7 and the gas outlet 54 of the valve to the burner on the top of the B gas storage room of the main stove 2 for burning. Since there are less holes (4 holes) on the burner on the top of the B gas storage room, the water heater is to be heated at a lower temperature.
When the fully burning key 33 is pushed down, the key is locked by a fastening device of the positioning and recovery mechanism 35, while the rest keys 31,i2,34 will be reset to their original positions. When the full burning key 33 is pushed down, the laterally driving rod 83 is pushed downwards to cause the first and the second driving bars simultaneously to open the rubber plugs 61,71 of valves 6 and 7; then, the gas can flow to the burners on the top of the A and B gas storage rooms for burning.
Since all the holes (12 holes) of the burners are in burning condition, the water heater is to be heated at the highest temperature.
When the stop-burning-key 34 is pushed down, the key will not be locked by the fastening device of the positioning and recovery mechanism 35, but the rest keys 31, 32, 33 will return to their using positions.
In comparison with the gas outflow controlled by the push-revolving type button in the conventional water heater, the present invention has at least the advantages as follows: A. This invention can avoid the mechanical trouble of the push-revolving type button, which might cause the danger of gas leakage.
B. Since this invention is controlled by the mechanical push key, it has the advantages of simple structure, easy-operation, and long serviceable life.
C. There are two valves and rubber plugs in this invention, which can tightly close the gas passage. This provides the users with more safety protection against gas leakage.
D. This invention not only can let the user easily control the gas outflow, but also prohibit wasting of the gas.
The description above acturally includes the best mode which the inventor can anticipate to carry out the present invention, and doesn't mean to limit this invention. Any modification or change on the described shape, structure, installation, etc of the present invention made by any person skilled in the art is deemed to be within the scope of Claims of the present invention.
