Abstract

A moulding of synthetic phenolic foam resin is in the form of a duct 1 having three separate but parallel fluid transporting channels 2, 3, 4. The channels are all circular in cross-section and one central channel 3 lies intermediate the other two channels 2, 4 and has a smaller cross-sectional area. The duct 1 may be used for water in central-heating systems to carry electrical wiring to exhaust boilers or as a ventilator in a bathroom or kitchen. <IMAGE>

Description

"A MOULDING OF SYNTHETIC RESIN" The present invention relates to a moulding of synthetic resin, particularly though not exclusively for attachment to a fuel-fired boiler particularly a gas-fired boiler of the condensing type.
According to the present invention, there is provided a moulding of synthetic resin, the moulding being in the form of a duct having at least two separate but parallel fluid transporting channels.
Embodiments of the invention will now be particularly described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which : Figure 1 is a cross section through a typical moulding, Figure 2 is a perspective view of an angle form of a moulding showing the channels in hidden detail, and Figure 3 is an axial section through the moulding shown in Figure 2.
Referring to the drawings, the moulding 1 is a phenolic foam having three circular channels 2,3,4 having their axes arranged parallel to each other.
The moulding is a duct 1 having two larger outer channels 2,4, between which is located a smaller central channel 3.
The duct 1 is designed to be fitted to a condensing type gas-fired boiler (not shown) wherein the two outer channels 2,4 respectively carry exhaust gas from, and conduct combustion air to the boiler. The central channel 3 is designed to transport away from the boiler any condensate formed by the flue gas. The condensate may be pumped along the central channel 3.
As shown in Figure 2 the moulding 1 may be attached to any convenient wall 5.
While not shown, the moulding may terminate in a terminal providing discharge of the exhaust gas and the condensate and permitting ingress of the combustion air.
The moulding shown could also be used to convey water for central heating systems, as a duct for electrical wiring, as an intake/extract ventilation for kitchens, bathrooms etc.

Claims (5)

1. A moulding of synthetic resin, the moulding being in the form of a duct having at least two separate but parallel fluid transporting channels.
2. A moulding as claimed in claim 1 in which the duct has three channels.
3. A moulding as claimed in claim 2, in which the channels are circular in section and one of the channels has a smaller diameter than the other two.
4. A moulding as claimed in claim 3 in which the smaller diameter channel is situated intermediate the other channels.
5. A moulding substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
