Abstract

219,583. Cole & Co., Ltd., W. H., Taylor, C. M., and Reed, E. T. W. Dec. 27, 1923. Press-button fasteners. - The stud and socket parts of a snap fastener are temporarily secured in position whilst the garment is being fitted by pins passed transversely through holes in the stud and socket portions. The domed part of the stud a, Figs. 1 and 2 is provided with sewing-on holes d and a pin e may be passed transversely through two opposite holes to secure the stud temporarily. Depressions c are provided between the outer edges of the holes d and the outer edge of the base of the stud to facilitate insertion of the pin e. The socket g, Fig. 4, is formed with two diametrically opposed holes k near the top of its raised part through which the pin e is inserted as shown to secure the socket temporarily to the garment.
