Press-button fasteners. - In a snap fastener in which the stud and/or socket part is secured to a garment by an attachment plate a applied to the opposite side of the fabric from the stud or socket, the two parts being secured together by sewing threads or prongs, the plate a, which has a central hole or projection, is made elastic so that it bears first on the material between it and the stud or socket at either its inner or outer edge or portion, whereafter the sewing threads or prongs draw its other edge or portion into contact with said material. Either or both the edges of the plate a may be provided with a downwardly-turned, preferably serrated, edge, and in order to render the plate a more flexible it may be provided with annular corrugations. Channels may be formed in the plate a between the sewing- on holes for the threads to lie in, whilst, when the plate a is provided with attaching prongs, the holes in the socket or stud part to receive these are formed at the bottom of depressions in which the turned-over ends of the prongs lie.
