Windows and the like, cleaning.-A wiper for the outside surfaces of wind-screens, in which the wiping material is detachably mounted comprises a channel-section arm 1 having at its ends screw clamps 15 for clamping the ends of a number of superimposed strips 8 of textile material. A spring 11 is detachably and adjustably secured to the arm 1, its end passing under inwardly projecting extensions of the side walls, and a bulge on the spring engaging one of a number of holes in the arm. At its other end the spring is bent to form a handle 12 and' secured to a channel-section arm 9 carrying a rubber pad 10 for removing mist from the inner surface of the screen. The textile strips 8 may be treated with a composition which, when moistened, leaves a film on the sur. face, of the glass that prevents the formation of drops of water.
