Between two adjacent tie, instead of being a relatively broad flat grooves, there is thus formed a spherical sur strip, now has the form of a sharp point that face functioning as a drip former and ensuring can easily pierce relatively hard insulating ma- 120 that moisture drops, if any, are discharged terials. Moreover, there ing of end portion 6 in joint 10 of the outer is minimal damage of the insulating material 125 cavity leaf 14, so that end portion 6 of the due to the sharp point. wall tie also has a high pull-out value.
Due to the flattened, corrugated form of the Fig. 3 shows a detail of the anchorage in end portion, this is still sufficiently thin for it the inner cavity leaf. Inner cavity leaves usu to be received in a cement joint of an outer ally consist of sandlime brick blocks glued cavity leaf, while the spherical surface be- 130 onto each other. The thickness of the glued 2 GB2190938A joint is about 2 mm. The thickness of the wall tie at the indentation 2 is 1 mm. The flat end portion 1 of the wall tie is placed on an adhesive strip, with some adhesive penetrating through an opening into the indentation 2, thereby forming a drop 15. By placing the next sandlime brick block, the drop of adhesive 15 is flattened and the indentation 2 is filled entirely with adhesive.
Fig. 4 shows four wall ties disposed in inner cavity leaves of different thickness and construction. This thickness is minimally 100 mm and maximally 150 mm. The length of the flat strip 1 of the wall tie is 90 mm, so that the glued joint is filled practically entirely at minimum thickness of the cavity leaf and still for more than half at maximum thickness of the cavity leaf in the direction of said wall tie. Owing to this length, the possibility of tilting of the sandlime brick block placed on the wall tie in a direction transverse to the wall tie has been removed. Due to the long length of the flat stip 1, the wall tie can also be used with sandlime brick blocks having a protrusion 16, so that the necessity to use wall ties of differ- ent length for different inner cavity leaves is considerably reduced.
