Abstract

218,589. Western Electric Co., Ltd., (Deakin, G.). Feb. 1, 1924. Automatic exchange systems; selectors.-In systems in which selectors are multipled by means of groups of conductors in one plane, for instance ribbon cable as described in Specification 3980/12, the tone conductors are arranged between the a and b-wires of the associated or preferably of another circuit, and the talking loops are spaced apart by the cwires. As shown, the selectors are line finders having two sets of wipers spaced 180‹ apart and serving different groups of terminals. In the known arrangement, in which interference arises, one circuit comprises a and b-wires 1, 3, a tone-wire 5 and c-wire 7, the wires 2, 4, 6, 8 being the corresponding wires of the other circuit. In the present arrangement 7, 3 are a and b-wires of one circuit and 6, 8 those of the other, the loops being separated by both c-wires 4, 5. The tone wires 2, 7 are arranged between the a and bwires of the circuit to which they do not belong.
