Automatic exchange systems.-In systems employing link circuits consisting of backwardlyhunting and forwardly-hunting switches in tandem in which an idle link circuit is selected by an allotting-switch when a call is initiated, the forwardly-hunting switch first hunts for an idle outlet and the backwardly-hunting switch hunts subsequently for the wanted line. The invention is described with reference to the complete system described in Specification 295,421 in which the first group selectors accessible from the forwardly-hunting switches are permanently multipled to register-controllers, a link circuit only being selected by the alloting-switch if it has access to an idle selector associated with an idle register-controller. The test relays for the allotting switch and for the two hunting switches are all associated with the alotting switch.
