Abstract

217,445. Warden, H. July 9, 1923. Latches, sliding.-A spring-pressed sliding rod 8 with bevelled head 9 is mounted in guides 6, 7 secured to the bottom half 2 of a cigarette &c. case to engage a bevelled projection 10 on the top half 1 of the case. The rod is released by pressing upwardly a sliding strip 12 of T- or L- shape received in a cut-away portion of the case and connected to a short length of tubing 11 fixed to the rod. The strip 12 may have a thumb piece to facilitate opening, but is preferably flush with the surface of the case.
