197,135. Houldcroft, E. M. A. March 20, 1922. Screw sockets.-A plug for use in fastening sheet or lining members 6 to frames &c. 7 comprises a tubular metal casing 1 having g a fibre, hardwood or like core 4, each having longituninal saw-gates 3, Fig. 2, to facilitate expansion when a screw &c. 10 is inserted into the plug. An annular groove 8 is formed in the metal casing near one end to assist in retaining the plug in in position. The metal casing may be knurled or roughened on its outer surface, and may be internally screw-threaded. The flange, 2 may be turned inwardly or the metal casing may be formed with one end closed.
