It is a well known tradition that children should place articles, which are valuable to them, such as a tooth which has come loose under a pillow or in the bed in which they are sleeping in the hope that the "tooth fairy" will bring a suitable reward. Such traditions are, of course, well known.
The present invention is intended to provide a receptacleforsuch atooth orothertreasured article in the bed in which the child is sleeping and to allow the parents to replace the tooth with the usual coin or other small gift whilst the child is asleep.
According to the present invention an article of bed linen, as defined above, is provided with a pocket on one surface thereof.
Thus, the pocket can be provided on a pillow which is readily available to the child and in which the treasured article, such as a tooth, can be placed and from where it can be extracted and replaced by a suitable coin orsimiiargift.
Preferablythe pocket is provided with a coverflap and, if desired, the pocket can be provided with two or more compartments.
The pocket may also be arranged to carry indicea, such as the name of the child.
The invention can be performed in various ways but one embodiment will now be described byway of example and with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure lisa diagrammatic view of a pillow case carrying the pocket according to the invention.
As shown in the drawing a pocket 1 made from cotton comprises an outerwall 2 and an innerwall 3.
The pocket is provided with a flap 4formed by an extension of the inner walk 3 and is stitched by a line of stitching 5 to a pillow case indicated by reference numeral 6. The pocket can be stitched to the pillow case at any suitable point, but, as shown, is in one corner.
The outer surface ofthe flap 4, when folded down, can carry the name ofthe childforwhom the pillow case is intended and the pillow case itself can carry suitable decoration in well known fashion.
In the arrangement shown the pillow case has a single compartment but if desired another piece of material can be stitched between the front and back so that two compartments are provided.
The pocket provides a suitable receptacle into which a child can place a tooth forthe "tooth fairy" to remove and replace buy a coin or another gift.
If desired the pocket could be surrounded by decoration, forexample, a strip of lace orsimilar material as indicated by reference numeral 7.
Afastener in the form of a button or, as shown, a snapper fastener 8 can be provided on the flap 4to co-operate with a suitable fastener on thefront wall 2.
