Food preparations.-A breakfast food is prepared by soaking bran in water at 65-70‹ F. to extract the vitamines, mixing the soaked bran with dough, from which bread is made in the usual manner. adding the extract to the bread, and drying at a temperature below 160‹ F. The bread is preferably sliced or crumbled and toasted before adding the extract. Vitamines from other sources, milk and yeast may be added to the extract before mixing with the bread.
