The detent connection comprises a plurality of spring elements 8 which are fitted to the inside of the glass pane 5 of the outer door member and which comprise a resilient detent arm 11 which merges into a rising surface 12 extending obliquely and has an arcuate detent 13 at the free resilient end of the spring element 8 and corresponding detent openings 15 for the detent 13 on the edge 14 of the inner door member 2. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Door for the baking and roasting compartment of an oven This invention relates to a door for the baking and roasting compartment of an oven comprising an inner door member with an observation window and an outer door member formed by a pane of glass, which is detachably connected to the inner door member by means of a detent connection.
A door of this type is known from the DE-OS 32 38 441. In the case of this door, a detent element, which can be engaged in a snap-in recess in a lower retaining strip of the inner door member, is fitted to the inside of the front pane of glass. Thus the possibility is afforded of the front pane of glass being detachably or interchangeably connected to the inner door member.
The invention seeks to further simplify the detent connection of the front pane of glass for the door of the baking and roasting compartment.
According to the invention there is provided a door for the baking and roasting compartment of an oven, comprising an inner door member with an observation window and an outer door member formed by a pane of glass, which is detachably connected to the inner door member by means of a detent connection, wherein the detent connection comprises a plurality of spring elements fitted to the inside of the outer door member, including a resilient detent arm which merges into a rising surface, extending obliquely, and an arcuate detent at the free resilient end of the spring element, and corresponding detent openings for the detent on the edge of the inner door member.
As a result of the proposed measures, a detent device for the front pane of glass at the door of the baking and roasting compartment is provided which is distinguished, above all, by a construction which can save material and can be particular, inexpensive to produce.
The invention will now be described in greater detail, by way of example, with reference to the drawing, the single figure of which shows an oven door in accordance with the invention, in section.
The oven door 1 as shown in the drawing comprises essentially of a frame-like inner sheet-metal door member 2 with a window opening 4 covered by an observation window 3 and an all-glass pane 5 forming the front of the door. Mounted at the upper edge of the sheet-metal door member 2 is a handle portion 6 which comprises plastics material. The gripping hollow 7 of the handle 6 projects beyond the all-glass pane 5. Secured to the inside of the all-glass pane 5, which is adjacent to the sheet-metal door member 2, are spring elements 8. The elements 8 are secured by an adhesive 9 of the all-glass panel 5. Spacing elements 10, 10' are formed on the mounting side of the spring elements 8.
These spacing elements have the effect that there is always the same amount of adhesive between the all-glass pane 5 and the mounting side of the spring elements 8. The spring element 8 comprises of a resilient detent arm 11 which has a rising surface 1 2 extending obliquely and comprises an arcuate detent 1 3 at the free resilient end of the rising surface 1 2. A corresponding detent opening 1 5 is formed ì the edge 14 of the sheet-metal door member 2 for engagement of the detent 1 3.
The arcuate detent 1 3 at the free resilient end of the spring element 8 also ensures that the all-glass pane is always held at the same distance 16 from the encircling edge 14 of the sheet-metal door member 2.
The spring element 8 further comprises a bent lug 1 7 which acts against the edge 1 4 of the sheet-metal door member 2 and so forms a further additional centring means for the all-glass pane 5. Furthermore, the spring element 8 is provided with a supporting bend 1 8 which engages under or over the edge of the all-glass pane 5 and which, on the one hand, supports the all-glass pane 5 at the top or bottom and, on the other hand, forms a locator during the adhering of the spring element 8.
The positive mounting of the all-glass pane 5 on the inner sheet-metal door member 2 may be effected manually or automatically.
The all-glass pane is brought to bear against the sheet-metal door member 2. In the course of this, a centring of the all-glass pane 5 is ensured by the rising surface 12, extending obliquely, on the spring element 8. Then the all-glass pane is pushed against the sheetmetal door member 2 until the four spring elements 8 are engaged in the detent openings 1 5 in the edge 1 4 of the sheet-metai door member 2.
1. A door for the baking and roasting compartment of an oven, comprising an inner door member with an observation window and an outer door member formed by a pane of glass, which is detachably connected to the inner door member by means of a detent connection, wherein the detent connection comprises a pluralityof spring elements fitted to the inside of the outer door member, including a resilient detent arm which merges into a rising surface, extending obliquely, and an arcuate detent at the free resilient end of the spring element, and corresponding detent openings for the detent on the edge of the inner door member.
2. A door as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the spring elements are secured to the glass pane of the outer door member by an adhesive.
