Abstract

R o t a r y intaglio machines- An intaglio machine for printing multicolour illustrations in combination with text is so arranged that the text is first printed from a rotary intaglio printing- couple, and the illustrations are printed subsequently, from other intaglio printing-couples. In one form, the " text " cylinder B prints in conjunction with an impression cylinder F supported by a counter-pressure cylinder A. This cylinder A also supports the impression cylinders F<1>, F<2>, F<3> of intaglio cylinders B<1>, B<2>, B<3> for printing a multi-colour illustration. The cylinder B is preferably supplied with a water ink, and the cylinders B', B<2>, B<3> with oil inks. The printing from all the cylinders may be by the offset method. In a second form, each impression cylinder is fitted with a separate counter-pressure cylinder. Inking-apparatus.-The ink-ducts C . . C<3> are preferably automatically supplied with ink, and are cooled by the circulation of water through jackets surrounding the ducts.
