Abstract

A safety hook, for hanging pictures, mirrors etc., prevents impulsive theft because of the barrier created across the hook section by the way the metal is bent to form an enclosed loop to secure the cord of any object suspended from it. The barrier has a spring like flexibility so that when depressed the cord may be released. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Safety picture/mirror hook A picture hook which protects from accidental jogging, but more importantly, from casual theft when used in exhibitions and shop displays.
It consists of a single length of flexible metal bent in such a way as to produce a barrier across the hook section-this is pressed back in order to release the hanging cord.
1. A safety picture/mirror hook which prevents casual theft and accidental jogging, the hook being formed from a single strip of metal producing a spring action which connects the 'arm' of the hook to a base lip creating a closed loop.
2. A safety picture/mirror hook as claimed in claim 1-the loop thus formed encloses the cord or wire of the item suspended on it when clipped through and prevents its removal.
3. A safety picture/mirror hook as claimed in claim 2-the removal of any object involves the depressing of the spring 'arm' of the hook.
4. A safety picture/mirror hook as claimed in claim 3-an electrical alarm system can be connected to the hook so that when the contact of the 'arm' and base is broken the alarm system is activated.

SPECIFICATION Safety picture/mirror hook A picture hook which protects from accidental jogging, but more importantly, from casual theft when used in exhibitions and shop displays. It consists of a single length of flexible metal bent in such a way as to produce a barrier across the hook section-this is pressed back in order to release the hanging cord. CLAIMS
1. A safety picture/mirror hook which prevents casual theft and accidental jogging, the hook being formed from a single strip of metal producing a spring action which connects the 'arm' of the hook to a base lip creating a closed loop.
