Abstract

214,708. Cranko, A. C. W. Jan. 22, 1923. Hand - supported, hand-driven brushes. -A brush especially a shaving brush, is rotatable relatively to the handle by means of a thumb or finger - operated rack engaging with a pinion, the axis of rotation being parallel to the bristles. As shown a plate A, to which the bristle base may be attached, is secured to a stem B rotatably mounted in a member C screw-threaded for attachment to the brush handle. The stem B carries a pinion D adapted to be oscillated, either directly or through multiplying gear, by means of a pivoted sector F and a spring G. The top of the member C may be of domed or conical shape, the plate A being recessed accordingly.
