Abstract

180,891. Purdy, S. D., and Simms & Co., Ltd., T. S. May 25, 1921. Hollow handles; locking catches and pawls.- A shaving brush is detachably secured to a hollow handle 5 by means of spring-pressed studs 10 provided on ferrule 6 and adapted to engage in arcuate recesses 14 formed on the inner surface of the handle, disengagement being produced by relative rotary movement of the parts. The brush may be housed within the handle, the studs 10 engaging frictionally with the interior. The handle and ferrule are slightly tapered towards one end. In a modification the studs may be replaced by a spring strap with stud offsets. The handle 5 may be of metal, celluloid, or hard rubber.
