Abstract

213,716. Bonn, C. R. H. Jan. 27,1923. Flow meters, pressureactuated.-A fluid flow meter comprises a turbine wheel 1, Fig. 2, carrying an indicating pointer 3 and adapted to be rotated to a varying extent against the action of a spring 5, a damping vane 14 being provided, if desired. The vanes may be formed by undercut or other grooves 15, Fig. 5, and the nozzle 21, Fig. 4, is preferably of the converging-diverging type, with its exit shaped to conform to the curvature of the turbine wheel and large enough to cover several grooves. The faces 31, Fig. 6, of the wheel may be countersunk to provide sharp edges 32, and a surrounding casing 30 with sharp edges 33 may be employed.
