Abstract

A safety razor comprising a hollow handle 11, which may be filled with shaving cream, a removable hollow plug 12 for closing the open end of the handle remote from the shaving head and removable means 14 for closing the end of the hollow plug 12 so that it may be filled with after-shave lotion of the like which is kept separate from the shaving cream. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Improvements in or relating to safety razors This invention relates to safety razors.
The principal object of the invention is to provide a form of safety razor in which various articles used in shaving, such as shaving cream and after-shave lotion, may be incorporated with the razor in the form of a single unit.
According to the invention, there is provided a safety razor comprising a hollow handle, which may be filled with shaving cream, a removable hollow plug for closing the open end of the handle remote from the shaving head, and removable means for closing the end of the hollow plug so that it may be filled with after-shave lotion or the like which is thus kept separate from the shaving cream.
The shaving cream will preferably be in liquid form, and by making the handle of transparent or translucent materiai, it is possible to observe the amount of cream in the handle.
One embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 is a cross-section of the razor, and Figure 2 illustrates the closure plug on a larger scale.
The razor comprises a shaving head 10 and a hollow handle 11 which may be filled with shaving cream. The open end of the handle 11 is closed by a removable plug 12 which is formed with an open-ended cavity 13. The plug 12 may be filled with after-shave lotion or the like and is closed by means of a removable plug 14.
The plug 12 may make a push fit within the handle, as shown, or it may be a threaded plug to engage an internal thread in the handle.
The invention is applicable to all types of safety razor having a handle, whether of the long-lasting or throwaway types.

A safety razor comprising a hollow handle, which may be filled with shaving cream, a removable hollow plug for closing the open end of the handle remote from the shaving head, and removable means for closing the end of the hollow plug so that it may be filled with after-shave lotion or the like which is thus kept separate from the shaving cream.
2. A safety razor as claimed in claim 1 wherein the handle is formed of transparent or translucent material.
3. A safety razor substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawing.

The principal object of the invention is to provide a form of safety razor in which various articles used in shaving, such as shaving cream and after-shave lotion, may be incorporated with the razor in the form of a single unit. According to the invention, there is provided a safety razor comprising a hollow handle, which may be filled with shaving cream, a removable hollow plug for closing the open end of the handle remote from the shaving head, and removable means for closing the end of the hollow plug so that it may be filled with after-shave lotion or the like which is thus kept separate from the shaving cream. The shaving cream will preferably be in liquid form, and by making the handle of transparent or translucent materiai, it is possible to observe the amount of cream in the handle. 1. A safety razor comprising a hollow handle, which may be filled with shaving cream, a removable hollow plug for closing the open end of the handle remote from the shaving head, and removable means for closing the end of the hollow plug so that it may be filled with after-shave lotion or the like which is thus kept separate from the shaving cream.
2. A safety razor as claimed in claim 1 wherein the handle is formed of transparent or translucent material.
3. A safety razor substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawing.
