Abstract

A multipurpose implement, such as a spoon, spatula or pourer, is formed from a blank comprising a flat sheet such as card or plastics material, the blank forming the implement being provided with preferential folding lines 110 such that when the blank is folded along said lines a three-dimensional multipurpose implement is formed. The implement 1 has a head portion 10 and a stem portion 11. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Multipurpose implement This invention relates to a multipurpose implement.
More particularly the invention relates to an implement which can be easily produced from card or plastics sheeting and which can be used as a spoon/spatula or pourer.
According to the present invention there is provided a multipurpose implement formed from card, plastics sheeting or the like on which preferential folding lines have been made such that when folded along said preferential lines a three-dimensional multipurpose implement is formed.
An embodiment of the present invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure lisa plan view of one embodiment of a multipurpose implement made in accordance with the present invention; and Figure 2 is an enlarged cross section taken along the lineX-XofFigure 1.
Referring to the drawings a multipurpose implement 1 is formed having a head portion 10 and a stem portion 11. The implement is formed of card or thin plastics sheeting, such as perspex (RTM) and may be conveniently formed by a stamping process.
The head portion 10 is provided with two preferential folding lines 100 and the stem portion 11 is provided with four angled preferential folding lines 110.
When the implement is folded along the preferen tialfolding lines 110 the stem portion 11 is transformed into a channel section handle and the head portion is formed into a bowl such that the implement may be used as a spoon.
Similarly when folded as described above the channel section stem portion 11 may act as a pourer, the head portion 10 forming a suitable funnel.
By altering the dimensions, the impelment may be equally transformed into a spatula or the like.
Modifications and improvements may be incorporated without departing from the scope of the invention, for example, the material used may be plasticised card or any other plastics material which is available in sheet form.
1. Amultipurpose implement formed from card, plastics sheeting or the like on which preferential folding lines have been made such that when folded along the preferential lines a three-dimensional multipurpose implement is formed.
2. A multipurpose implement having a head portion and a stem portion formed integrally with said head portion from card, plastics sheeting or the like, the head portion and stem portion each having preferential folding lines such that when the implement is folded along said folding lines the head portion is formed into a bowl and the stem portion is formed into a channel section handle.
3. An implement as claimed in claim 2, wherein said head portion is substantially elliptical and said stem portion is rectangular.
4. An implement as claimed in claim 3, wherein said preferential folding lines in the head portion substantially formed chords of said ellipse.
5. An implement as claimed in either claim 3 or 4, wherein said preferential folding lines in said stem portion extend along the length of said rectangle to form a ball of V-shaped configurations.
6. A multipurpose implement substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
