212,918. S÷derstr÷m, J. W. March 17, 1923, [Convention date]. Packing, non-metallic. - Packing, especially applicable for bearings, consists of rings stamped from compound rag-paper sheets. The latter are made by cementing rag-paper sheets together with a mixture of linseed oil, resin, caustic soda, rice flour, alum and xerotine. The rings are treated with molten paraffin and mineral oil.
