Abstract

212,907. Hertenbein, L. March 12, 1923, [Convention date]. Rotary filters.-The cake formed on a rotarvdrum suction filter is, for removal, caused to adhere to a roller n rotating in contact with the drum and situated adjacent to the point at which the drum re-enters the liquid in the course of its rotation. The roller is supported by pivoted arms n<2>. The solid matter is removed from the roller by a curved scraper p and falls on to a plate p<1>. The drum comprises peripheral chambers e connected by radial pipes g and a hollow central shaft to suction and pressure devices. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 3, an endless band r of metal cloth is passed between the drum and the roller. The solid matter adheres to the band and is removed therefrom by a scraper s<1>. The band r may be passed through a drying space. Specification 22840/14 is referred to.
