212,852. Marks, E. C. R., (Siemens & Halske Akt.-Ges.). Nov. 14, 1923. Gas analysis.-Relates to apparatus for testing flue gases &c. in which the changes of resistance in an electrically-heated conductor, due to variations in the cooling effect arising from changes in composition in the gas, are utilized to give an indication of such changes in composition. The electrically-heated conductor 11, 12 constituting the two arms of a Wheatstone's bridge, is placed in passages 7, 8 in one block of metal, and the other pair of arms 9, 10 are placed in a standard gas and in passages 5, 6 in another block of metal. The gas to be tested is passed through a passage 15 bored through the firstmentioned block and communicating with the passages 7, 8, through small openings 14 so that the flow of gas along the wires 11, 12, is considerably less than that along the passage 15.
