Abstract
Method for the production of combustible gas and a device for the application of the method. The method according to the invention is characterised in that a gasifiable material is fed by means of a screw device (3) into a drum (1) equipped with lip screens (2) and mounted in a twin-shell casing (6), the material in the drum being displaced longitudinally to a gas discharge part (4), where incombustible material is discharged through a hatch (5) onto a screw device (13) and is then discharged through a sluice device (14), while at the same time the incoming air is guided by means of the lip screens into the bottom of the drum in a direction opposite to the direction of rotation of the drum, in order to keep the material floating along the bottom, whereas the intermediate space (7) of the casing is caused to cool the inner shell and to heat the primary air (8) admitted under the drum and drawn through or forced into the drum, whereby an air chamber (9) is fitted to ensure the correct velocity of the intake air, whereas the material fed into the drum is in compact form and the flue gases are caused to flow through a vibrating filter assembly (12) typically containing limestone and are then discharged through an opening (15). The gasifiable material may consist of refuse, peat or similar material.
