Description

SPECIFICATION Mounting means for mounting a device in a work location The present invention relates to mounting means for mounting a device in a work location, especially for the exchangeable mounting of a form-mounted vibrator at a form wall for concrete.
In a known method of exchangeable mounting of a form-mounted vibrator at a form wall, passage bores are provided in two end flanges of the vibrator and fastening screws, with the aid of which the vibrator could be fastened to the wall, are introduced into the bores. In this known mounting, four screws are provided and must be completely loosened and removed when the vibrator is to be removed and fastened to another form. It is then necessary to again fasten the demounted device by means of the screws to another form, and the whole procedure is very laborious, because form-mounted vibrators, particularly in tunnel construction and in the production of finished concrete parts, frequently have to be relocated. A relatively large amount of time is thus necessary for the detaching and refastening of the device.
There is accordingly a need for mounting means by which the mounting and demounting of devices at their working place can be undertaken quickly.
According to the present invention there is provided mounting means for mounting a device in a work location, the mounting means comprising a base plate for attachment to wall means, two studs projecting from the base plate to receive such device therebetween, one of the studs being provided at its free end with movable clamping means and the other with fixed bearing means, and a clamping plate which is co-operable with the clamping means and the bearing means to releasably clamp the device against the base plate and which is provided with two aligned open-ended slots each for receiving a respective one of the studs to be movable therein for positioning of the clamping plate and further provided at one side thereof with at least one arcuate projection by which the clamping plate in use bears on the device, the open end of the slot for said one of the studs being disposed at the periphery of the plate and the open end of the other slot being disposed to communicate with an opening in the clamping plate for passage of the bearing means therethrough.
In a preferred embodiment, two studs are provided at a base plate locatable at a form wall and between them receive the device to be clamped fast, wherein the one stud has a clamping element at its free end and the other stud has a fixed counterbearing. A clamping plate is provided for bearing against the device and has an entry opening for the counterbearing, an adjoining elongate hole or slot for the associated stud, and an entry slot, which is aligned with the elongate hole and open at the rim of the clamping plate, for the other stud, the clamping plate at its bearing side being provided with at least one arcuate projection by which it bears against the device. With this arrangement, it is possible to displace the clamping plate after loosening the clamping element, whereby the stud provided with the clamping element comes free of the entry slot. The clamping plate can then be pivoted away so that the device can be removed from its working place and taken to another working place, where with the aid of such a clamping device it can again be fixed rapidly and securely at the provided place. For this purpose, it is only necessary, after positioning of the device, to lay the clamping plate on the device and then to displace the plate until the entry slot receives the stud with the clamping element. The exertion of a clamping force is provided by the or each arcuate projection even though only one clamping element is provided on one stud and the other stud has a fixed counterbearing, since the arcuate projection or projections permits or permit a tilting movement of the clamping plate when clamped by the clamping element.
Preferably, the or each projection is so arranged at the clamping plate as to be disposed in the centre between the studs in the clamping position.
This enables a symmetrical clamping of the device, which is important for symmetrically constructed vibrators.
In the simplest case, the clamping element can be a nut threadable onto a thread of the respective stud, in which case it is advantageous to construct the nut as lock nut and to secure it against a complete removal. In that case washers, which can easily get lost, are not required and the nut is captive on the stud, which is of advantage in building site operation. A completely detachable nut could easily get lost. Since the clamping plate is displaceable by reason of the elongate hole and of the entry slot, complete removal of the nut is not required. In order that, in the event of strong shocks, the clamping plate cannot be displaced out of its given setting even if the clamping element is slightly loosened, the clamping plate is provided with a seating receiving and engaging with the counterbearing.
Protection against displacement in the case of strong shocks, and simple and rapid positioning of the device at its working place, is enhanced by provision of fixing pins at the base plate and/or the clamping plate. The arrangement of the fixing pins at the clamping plate is only possible when the clamping plate can be raised as well as slidably displaced, in which case a rapidly closing clamping element, for example an eccentric, is preferably used and additionally secured against an unintended loosening.
An embodiment of the present invention will now be more particularly described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Fig. 1 is a side elevation of mounting means embodying the invention, showing a device clamped therein; Fig. 2 is a cross-section along the line Il-Il of Fig. 1; and Fig. 3 is a plan view of a clamping plate of the mounting means.
Referring now to the drawings, there is shown mounting means comprising a base plate 1 , which is connected, for example by welding, to a form wall 2 for the production of concrete walls, and which is provided with two studs 3 and 4. The stud 3 at its free end has a firm counterbearing in the form of a circular-section cross-bar 5, and the stud 4 has an external thread 6 with a lock nut 7 threadably engaged thereon. A clamping plate 8 can be pressed with the aid of this lock nut 7 against a device 9 to be firmly held at the wall 2.
The clamping plate 8 has an entry opening 10 and an adjoining elongate hole 11 , the opening 10 being of such a size that the cross-bar 5 can pass through this opening. Formed in the plate 8 at the end of the elongate hole 11 is a seating 1 2, in which the cross-bar 5 is received and engaged at its circumference when the clamping plate 8 is disposed in the clamping position. In this clamping position, which is illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2, the second stud 4 is disposed in an outwardly open entry slot 1 3. In this position, the plate 8 can be pressed by means of the lock nut 7 against flanges 14 of the device 9, which is constructed as form mounted vibrator, the plate 8 bearing against the flanges by arcuate projections 1 5.
On tightening of the lock nut 7, the clamping plate 8 on the one hand bears by its seating 12 against the cross-bar 5 and on the other hand by the arcuate projections 1 5 against the flanges 14 of the device 9. Since the projections 1 5 are arcuate in shape and arranged in the centre with respect to the length of the plate 8, a substantially central clamping force is always exerted on the device 9 independently of whether or not the plate 8, in the elevation of Fig. 1, extends exactly parallel to the base plate 1 in the clamped state or is set obliquely due to differing dimensions of the flanges 14. Such an oblique setting can result from the fact that the cross-bar 5 is fixed and the clamping takes place only at the stud 4 by means of the lock nut 7.
Two locating pins 16, which engage into corresponding bores in the flange 14, are provided on the base plate 1. Through these locating pins, the device 9 is located in its work position at the base plate before being clamped. The locating pins are preferably arranged to be displaced relative to each other with respect to the main axis of the device.
