Abstract

A hollow body (1) stripped off from a press ram is removed with positive guidance by a rocker arm (6) provided with a delivery receptacle (5). A crank (8) actuating the rocker arm (6) is driven by way of an eccentrically running pair of toothed wheels (13, 14), as a result of which the retarded removal movement produced by the crank drive is converted into an accelerated removal movement. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Improvements in or relating to apparatuses for the positively guided removal of extrusion moulded hollow bodies The invention relates to an apparatus for the positively guided removal of extrusion moulded hollow bodies.
An known apparatus for the positively guided removal of extrusion-moulded hollow bodies is disclosed in the German Patent No. 20 48748. A fork gripping the hollow body is actuated by means of a crank by way of a multiple-component lever system.
The lever system with its relatively large number of bearings, is expensive to construct and susceptible to wear.
According to the invention, there is provided an apparatus for the positively guided removal of extrusion-moulded hollow bodies, stripped off a press ram, at right-angles to the direction of pressing, comprising a rocker arm which is provided with a delivery receptacle for the hollow body, and a crank engaging the rocker arm and arranged to be driven by way of a toothed-wheel gearing, the tooth-wheel gearing including at least one pair of toothed wheels running eccentrically.
It is thus possible to provide an apparatus which is simple to construct and reliable in operation.
The invention wiil be further described, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure l is a view of an apparatus constituting a preferred embodiment of the invention; and Figure 2 shows a section through the apparatus of Figure 1.
As a press slide is retracted, extrusion-moulded hollow bodies 1 are stripped off in known manner from the press ram by a stripping device 3 disposed in a stripping frame 2. In order to move the hollow bodies with positive guidance and in the correct position away from the area of the press ram and into a conveying tray 4 or the like, there is provided a rocker arm 6 which includes a delivery receptacle 5.
The rocker arm 6 is mounted slidably and pivotably by means of a slide ring 7 connected to the stripping frame 2 in known manner, and is driven by a crank 8 whose crank pin 9 is rotatably connected to the rocker arm 6.
The crank 8 is driven synchronously with the machine drive from a drive shaft 10 by way of a pinion 11 in mesh with a layshaft gear 12 which is rigidly connected to an eccentrically running first toothed wheel 13, and by way of the first toothed wheel 13 in mesh with a similar second toothed wheel 14 on the crankshaft 15 rotatably mounted in the stripping frame 2. The two toothed wheels 13 and 14 preferably have a non-circular, e.g. an elliptical shape.
By virtue of this driving arrangement, a further degree of asymmetry, which is produced by the eccentricity and shape of the toothed wheels 13, 14 and with correct assembly ensures that the retarded removal movement of the delivery receptacle 5 produced by the crank drive is accelerated, may be superimposed on the pivoting movement of the rocker arm 6 which is asymmetrical in any case on account of the crank drive. In the embodiment illustrated, the path of the delivery receptacle 5 is shown with reference to a given shape of the pair of toothed wheels 13, 14, which for the sake of greater clarity is shown exaggerated. The centre 16 of the delivery receptacle 5 moves along a curve 17 over a complete revolution of the crank 8 and, in accordance with the corresponding angles of rotation of the uniformity running first toothed wheel 14, is at the positions 0 , 30 and 60 etc., from which the accelerated removal movement may be seen.
1. An apparatus for the positively guided removal of extrusion-moulded hollow bodies, stripped off a press ram, at right-angles to the direction of pressing, comprising a rocker arm which is provided with a delivery receptacle for the hollow body, and a crank engaging the rocker arm and arranged to be driven by way of a toothed-wheel gearing, the toothed-wheel gearing including at least one pair of toothed wheels running eccentrically.
2. An apparatus as claimed in claim 1, in which the eccentrically running toothed wheels have a non-circular shape.
3. An apparatus as claimed in claim 2, in which the eccentrically running toothed wheels have an elliptical shape.
4. An apparatus for the positively guided removal of extrusion-moulded hollow bodies, substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to and as iliustrated in the accompanying drawings.
