Abstract
211,808. Turner, H. R. Sept. 24, 1923. Belts and bands. -- To protect the edges of woven belts of hair, wool, cotton, or other fibres or combinations thereof, substantial asbestos cords, strands or the like a, with or without the addition of other fibres or threads, are introduced into the selvedges, being woven in with the belt, impregnated with a wax or other filler, and rolled and squared to form solid edges as shown. A few warp threads a<1> of asbestos of ordinary thickness may be introduced adjacent to the solid edges.
