Abstract

246,735. Alexander, F. W., and Lewis & Tylor, Ltd. Aug. 4, 1925. Multiple fabrics.-In woven yarn belts for conveying or driving of the kind in which binding strands e<1>, e<2> are wound round the weft strands c<1>, c<2>, - - - , d<1>, d2, - - - of the top and bottom surfaces of the belt, each surface of the belt is provided with a facing of strands f<1> of a heavy soft yarn which is applied under comparatively low tension and passes alternately under and over the successive picks of weft strands. After proofing the loops are rolled down to form a hard wearing surface. The loose facings are preferably prolonged to wrap round the sides of the belt. Specifications 6473/98, 10146/03, and 3005/12 are referred to.
