Valve-discharge water-waste preventers.-The discharge valve 4 is suspended from one arm 8 of a bell-crank lever fulcrummed at 7. The arm 9 bears a weight 10 and the arm 8 a body 11 of adjustable weight. The valve is raised by throwing over the lever by means of a push-rod 12. When the water recedes from the body 11, the effective weight of the latter increases until it overcomes the influence of the weight 10 and throws over the lever in the reverse direction, thus closing the discharge valve.
