Sparking - plugs. - In sparking-plugs of the type in which the insulating body 5 is held between a turned-in flange 24 on the casing 2 and a shoulder 25, a screw-threaded nipple 9 engages the interior of the casing and is screwed home against the shoulder. The lower end of the nipple engages the engine cylinder. The nipple may have a single screw-thread throughout its length, in which case it is provided with flats or recesses at the top and bottom to facilitate removal from the cylinder or the casing 2. As shown, two screwthreads, which may be of different kinds, are provided and are separated by a hexagonal flange 22. The shoulder 25 may comprise an internal flange on the casing 2, or, as shown, it may be formed by a ring screwed into the casing and retained therein by peening over an adjacent thread.
