Abstract

211,562. Elektro-Osmose Akt.-Ges. (Graf Schwerin Ges.), Ruppel, W., and Dietrich, W. Nov. 20, 1922. Purifying liquids.-Relates to the elimination of salts from water by electrolysis. The water to be purified is circulated by a, pump P from a tank S, through the central compartment M of an electrolytic cell and back to the tank S. The outer compartments A, K contain' an anode and a cathode respectively and are separated from the compartment M by pervious diaphragms, such as sail cloth and chrome-leather, through which the electrodecomposition products of the salts pass. The liquid in the compartments A, K may be changed by the pipes F, D. Instead of circulating the water, it may be passed through a series of cells, pure water issuing from the last. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 14195/03 and 11823/14, [both in Class 41, Electrolysis].
