Combing-machines. -The large circle of a Noble or like combing-machine is heated by direct contact with the steam chest through ball or roller bearings, low pressure steam being utilized. The steam chest C is provided with an integral or adjustable flange C<2> carrying the balls or rollers B which support the comb circle R. Lubricant is placed in a recess A communicating with the bearings and covered with a plate A<1>. The ball race may be formed directly on the steam chest itself.
