Abstract

210,959. White, J. W. Jan. 12, 1923. Garment stretchers.-A trouser, necktie, &c. stretcher comprises a base 1 to which are pivoted supports 2, 3 held against inward' movement by struts 8. Ihe garment is gripped at its ends by clamps 5 and stretched by a weight 10, which may be of various shapes. In a modification, the support 3 is freely pivoted and is drawn outwards, to stretch the garment, by a weight. In a further modification, Fig. 3, the clamping means comprise a weighted and pivoted bar 12. In this form, the weight 13 may also be the stretching means. The clamping means may be straight or curved, and may be lined with a gripping material 17, such as crepe rubber. The Provisional Specification describes a preferred form of clamp wherein the trousers &c. are gripped between a wedge-bar and a fixed bar.
